Because that’s the one I’m going to use the most. I think yours is going to sound the best. You think so? Yeah. Singing the darkness with a tiny tear. The song Josie is one of my favorite songs. I love that song. Yeah, I really wanted to put it in story form. And a lot of it sounds like, a lot of the lyrics sound a little cliché, but it’s really just the story of my mom. And the fact is that, you know, it was me trying to find something good in her. Yeah. So therefore, I had to find a reason why she was the way she was. And the only way to do that was to go back into her childhood and look at her childhood and see what she went through. And so I figured, you know what, let me, the verses will really tell the story and maybe see a lot of it through her eyes in a more compassionate, sympathetic way. Josie. I don’t hear Chris at all. Whatever Chris is doing, can you turn him up? Yeah. Hold down the button. Yeah. You feel burning in your leg. Yeah. It’s divine. My mom was so, like, fucked up from childhood that she just kind of was stuck in this mode. And the minute that she brought up, and she’s a tough woman, my mother. She never really let those defenses down. But when she talked about her past, it would get to her, you know. And she was traumatized, man. There’s no doubt about it. And it was me kind of coming to terms with, hey, this is my mom. You only get one, you know. I’m going to give her a song that makes her feel good about herself because maybe that’s what she didn’t have, too. Maybe she needs somebody to recognize the good in her. And I think that’s where this came on, on top of the fact that if I would have wrote, while she was alive, if I would have wrote anything negative, she would have fucking kicked my ass. Hiding in her closet with her tiny tears Listens to the sound of music coming up the stairs And when she sits at home at night she cries Josie, what’s the method to your madness? Josie, have you told them of your pain? Maybe one day you can put it all behind you Nothing they could say would change my mind You’re an angel in my eyes Josie met Fred and they ran away to where? Sometime in the spring of 63 Fred fixes motor cars, Josie complains Cleaning up all of those stains Hiding in her bedroom all day long in fear Listen to the sound of children crying in her hair And when she sat at home at night she’d whine Josie, what’s the method to your madness? Josie, have you told them of your pain? Maybe one day you can put it all behind you Nothing they could say would change my mind You’re an angel in my eyes Sitting at the PC playing Solitaire Fred sits at the desk and pays the bills that took his hair And when they sit at home at night they’d whine Josie, what’s the method to your madness? Josie, have you told them of your pain? Maybe one day you can put it all behind you Nothing they could say would change my mind You’re an angel in my eyes Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da Thank you.
