About This Video Project

This product overview video shows how CVD Equipment Corporation is positioned to accelerate with the world’s demand for silicon carbide power electronics. We produced this video to be shown to potential consumers of CVD Equipment Corporation’s PVT-150, a high-performance silicon carbide crystal growth and annealing system. We shot all of the footage in one full day, capturing scripted messaging to be the dialogue bed underneath the visuals. We then captured visuals to be placed over the dialogue to give the viewer a visual understanding of the areas of the tool that were being described and highlighted. CVD Equipment Corporation had a tight deadline and we were able to deliver to them on time so that they could begin showing their video right away.

This video is to introduce CVD Equipment Corporation’s PVT-150 high-performance silicon carbide crystal growth and annealing system. We have brought to market a scalable process equipment solution for physical vapor transport. This standard product offering is for growing 150 and 200 millimeter diameter monocrystalline silicon carbide balls. Our turnkey solutions are skillfully engineered with over 40 years combined knowledge and experience in physical, electrical, and process equipment engineering built into our systems. The high production needs of leading silicon carbide wafer manufacturers are met and exceeded with the PVT-150. We offer highly engineered crystal growth systems designed for critical high-volume manufacturing to address all your production needs and industrial challenges. Our process equipment is proudly designed and built in the USA. Our mechanical engineering team, along with Autodesk Inventor, take initial concepts and create fully-fledged designs. We leverage our vertically integrated capabilities to manage our supply chain and provide a competitive advantage in lead time, delivery, and price. We have machining centers in all facets of our manufacturing operations, enabling us to machine and finish many of our metal, graphite, ceramic, and quartz components. Next, allow me to walk you through some of the features and benefits of the system. The system is powered by our CVD-WINPRC process control software for real-time process control, graphing, data logging, and process recipe editing. Our system can be connected to the internet for remote monitoring, training, software updates, and remote diagnostics of operating parameters. The graphical user interface shows time-dependent values of user-selected parameters. The operator can load pre-programmed recipes, modify, check, and create new recipes, and at the same time view real-time or saved process data. We can also integrate with your manufacturing enterprise system. Our robust process controls achieve temperature and pressure stability throughout long deposition runs. They facilitate the reliable production of low-defect silicon carbide balls. Temperature ramp-up and ramp-down rates are achieved by real-time PID process control. Our control system maintains the temperature within half a degree, as well as the pressure within plus or minus 1% of set point. In the PVT process, polycrystalline silicon carbide undergoes sublimation at high temperatures up to 2500°C. We use an RF induction heating coil to achieve the required temperatures. The automated repositionable RF coil with 100mm vertical travel controls thermal gradients and optimizes the silicon carbide growth. The reactor is designed to accept your fixturing and crucibles. The automated crucible load-unload, crucible rotation, and recipe start features simplify the operation. We integrate motorized pyrometer alignment with ease of a remote-controlled box for real-time monitoring of the crucible during crystal growth. Our PVT150 system has the latest safety protocols embedded into RelayLogic, PLC, and CVD WinPRC software. By prioritizing safety, we prioritize you. Our commitment to customer service and on-site support is our defining difference. CVD Equipment Corporation’s high-touch customer service is a customized approach to client support. This includes on-site presence, site surveys, installation coordination and field acceptance, initial startup support, on-site training, warranty response and remote capability, help desk support and customized service contract plans, continuous improvement programs and support, customized site support contracts, preventative maintenance support, and site personnel contracts. When all is said and done, CVD Equipment Corporation is positioned to accelerate with the world’s demand for silicon carbide power electronics. Our proven technology and expertise will meet and exceed your needs and challenges. We listen, we understand, we build trust, so you can build a better tomorrow.
